Tudor: "We're Heading In The Right Direction; Our Focus Now Is On Earning As Many Points As We Can And Evaluating Our Position At Season's End."

Igor Tudor is optimistic following Lazio's 1-0 victory over Hellas Verona, which keeps them in contention for a Champions League spot. The team secured three crucial points in a Serie A match at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday evening. This win comes after Lazio's disappointment in the Coppa Italia semi-finals, where they were eliminated despite beating Juventus 2-1.

The decisive goal against Verona came from substitute Mattia Zaccagni. Despite hitting the crossbar multiple times and missing other scoring opportunities, Lazio displayed a strong performance, with Felipe Anderson and Pedro creating notable chances. Tudor emphasized the importance of accumulating points consistently and focusing on each game individually to achieve their goals by the season's end.

"We're heading in the right direction; our focus now is on earning as many points as we can and evaluating our position at season's end," said Tudor via Sky Sport Italia.

This victory marks Lazio's third consecutive Serie A win, maintaining a clean sheet against a Verona side that had scored in seven straight matches. Under Tudor's leadership, Lazio has won five out of six games since he took over from Maurizio Sarri. Looking ahead, they face a tough match against Monza but are buoyed by their recent success and preparedness, treating each game with a final-like mentality.

"You can't plan everything; we must approach each game step by step. Our focus is now on preparing for the upcoming match against Monza. However, this victory was significant because we approached it with the intensity of a Coppa final and demonstrated the right mindset."

Tudor acknowledges the potential threat of opponents like Verona, urging his players to remain vigilant against counter-attacks and set-pieces to secure positive results consistently.

"The danger lies in not being vigilant against counter-attacks or set-pieces; they can score at any moment, making it challenging to recover. Our players are fully focused, giving their all."
