Di Canio: "We’re Entering A Decisive Week. If Lazio Lose, It’s Effectively The End Of The Road For Them."

As the race for Serie A’s final Champions League spot heats up, former striker Paolo Di Canio has weighed in on the significance of this weekend’s fixtures. Speaking to La Stampa, the ex-Lazio and Juventus forward pointed to the upcoming showdowns—Lazio vs Juventus and Atalanta vs Roma—as potential turning points in the battle for fourth place.

“We’re entering a decisive week,” Di Canio stated. “Unless both matches end in a draw, the results could reshape the standings and influence who grabs that final Champions League ticket.”

Focusing on his former club Lazio, Di Canio emphasized the high stakes of their clash against Juventus. “If Lazio lose, it’s effectively the end of the road for them,” he warned. “But a win could reignite their campaign and give them momentum heading into tough games ahead, especially against Inter at the San Siro.”

He added that playing at home in the Stadio Olimpico could give Lazio an edge, even as their overall energy and intensity seem to be fading in recent weeks.
