Lazio Join Race For Cagliari Star Nadir Zortea

Lazio have reportedly joined the growing list of Serie A clubs vying for Cagliari’s standout winger Nadir Zortea, following an eye-catching season from the 25-year-old wide man. The Biancoceleste, under the watchful eye of coach Marco Baroni, are said to be closely following the player’s development as they consider bolstering their options out wide.

Zortea, a product of Atalanta’s youth academy, has quietly risen through the ranks of Italian football with a string of loan spells, including an impressive half-season at Frosinone. Though the team suffered relegation, Zortea’s performances did not go unnoticed. Cagliari secured his permanent transfer last summer for €5 million — a deal that’s since proven to be a bargain.

This season, the versatile Italian has been a bright spot for Cagliari, contributing six goals in 32 Serie A appearances. His standout moment came in a high-scoring draw against AC Milan, where he opened the scoring while matching up against his football idol, Theo Hernandez.

Now, his consistent form has piqued interest across the league. According to Tuttosport, Lazio are among the clubs monitoring the situation, along with Torino and newly promoted Como. Zortea’s agents, Federico Pastorello and Marco Bicchierai, are reportedly fielding growing interest.

With Lazio potentially preparing to part ways with Loum Tchaouna — who has been linked with a move to PSV Eindhoven — Zortea could emerge as a direct replacement. His ability to play as a right winger, full-back, or wing-back adds valuable tactical flexibility. However, Cagliari hold a strong negotiating position with Zortea under contract until 2028.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Lazio will be watching closely, knowing that competition for Zortea’s signature is likely to heat up.
