[Official] Immobile Makes Serie A Comeback, Now Wearing Bologna Jersey

The echoes of Ciro Immobile’s legendary tenure at Lazio still reverberate around the Olimpico, but the “King” is set to write a new chapter—this time in the red and blue of Bologna. After a prolific season in Turkey with Besiktas, the veteran striker will once again showcase his talents in Serie A.

Bologna officially announced the signing of Ciro Immobile on a one-year contract, valid until June 2026, with the option of a further extension. The move marks Immobile’s return to Italian football, making Bologna his fifth club in Serie A after spells with Juventus, Genoa, Torino, and, most memorably, Lazio.

Immobile greeted his new supporters in a message on social media:

"Hello, I want to send a message to the Bologna fans. I can’t wait to see you all at Dall’Ara. I hope you’re ready for the upcoming season. Forza Bologna, Ciao."

At Lazio, Immobile wasn’t just a striker—he became a club legend. With over 200 Serie A goals for the Biancoceleste, he etched his name alongside the all-time greats of Italian football. His departure last summer left a notable void in the Lazio attack, with fans and pundits alike acknowledging his immense contribution both on and off the pitch.

Now 35, Immobile aims to join an elite group of veteran forwards—think Luca Toni, Miroslav Klose, and Antonio Di Natale—who continued to shine in their later years by hitting double figures for goals in a season. With Bologna competing in Serie A, the UEFA Europa League, and defending their Coppa Italia crown, the stage is set for Immobile to further cement his legacy.

While Lazio fans will always remember Immobile for his golden boot exploits and leadership, Serie A supporters can once again enjoy his predatory instincts on Italian soil. Immobile’s journey serves as a testament to resilience, adaptability, and a never-ending hunger for goals.
