Romagnoli Avoids Serious Injury, But Will Miss The Inter Match
For weeks, Maurizio Sarri has been forced to juggle not only tactical challenges but also a growing list of injuries that have severely limited Lazio’s options. The Biancoceleste coach has repeatedly found himself reshaping lineups and experimenting with emergency solutions just to field a competitive team.
The latest scare came during the match against Cagliari, when center-back Alessio Romagnoli was substituted at halftime after feeling discomfort in his flexor muscle. The incident raised immediate concern, as it marked what could have been Lazio’s tenth muscle issue of the season, adding to the ongoing absence of Nicolò Rovella, who is still recovering from a groin strain.
Fortunately, the medical results have provided encouraging news. According to reports, tests have ruled out any significant muscle injury for Romagnoli. The defender’s problem was diagnosed as minor fatigue rather than a tear, sparing Lazio from another long-term absence.
Even so, Sarri’s staff will handle the situation with caution. Romagnoli is expected to miss the next Serie A match against Inter at San Siro, allowing him additional recovery time during the international break. The plan is to reassess his condition ahead of the Lecce fixture on November 23, when he could make his return to the squad if no further complications arise.
