Adam Marusic Signs New Four Years Contract With Lazio

Lazio full-back, Adam Marusic has reportedly signed a new four-year contract with the Italian capital club and an official announcement on the news will be made soon.

As reported by the Italian newspaper La Gazetta Dello Sport on Sunday (08/08) morning local time, the 28-year-old Montenegrin player, Adam Marusic's contract expires in 2022 and must be extended immediately, to avoid losing his service on a free next season and also the most important thing is that he will be an important part of Maurizio Sarri's squad next season.

Negotiations regarding the defender's extension have been going on for some time now but an agreement has finally been reached and the player has signed it. Indeed, it has not been officially registered with the Lega Serie A because Lazio still has to solve problems related to the liquidity ratio to be able to make the confirmation.

Marusic who joined the Biancoceleste from KV Oostende in 2017 for a transfer value of around 5.5 million Euros at that time made 36 appearances in Serie A last season with a total of 2968 minutes, in that period he scored two goals and contributed four assists.

The 28-year-old defender became one of the important players in Simone Inzaghi's coaching era and helped them win the Coppa Italia, Italian Super Cup, qualify for the Champions League two seasons ago and the 2020/21 season, finishing sixth in the Serie A standings and qualifying for the Europa League.
