Igli Tare Claims Lazio Can Sign More Players In Current Transfer Market

Lazio's sporting director, Igli Tare provides an update on the capital club's plans for this summer's market. He revealed that they still wanted to sign a few more new players before the market closed at the end of August and went further.

Igli Tare interviewed with Italian broadcaster TgR Lazio on Saturday (31/07) local time, the Albanian sporting director first commented on the efforts that have been made to improve the Aquile squad so far.

"We can go very far, we have made changes to the team, a new game system, a new coach, with a new mentality, so everything is going well," he said.

"We still have a lot to improve, hopefully by the end of August we can give the squad the right form, I think Lazio will be a key player in the Italian league next season."

Next, Tare discusses the number of Albanian players who have joined the squad and whether there is a reason behind it.

"It's not a coincidence, but a question of trust, I know them very well as players and I think they can be good for us.

"Hysaj was an extraordinary player even before joining us."

The Biancoceleste's activities in the transfer market this summer were disturbed by the limited amount of funds so they had to sell several players before being able to officially register new players.

The main player who is reportedly set to be released is Argentine striker Joaquin Correa, but PSG's interest is dimming so other options must be found if the 26-year-old is for sale. The Biancoceleste themselves have been eyeing several players including Bordeaux midfielder Toma Basic and winger Josip Brekalo from VfL Wolfsburg.
