Lazio Scheduled To Face SV Meppen In Friendly Match

Lazio is rumored to be facing German third division club SV Meppen in the first friendly which will take place in Marienfeld on Wednesday (04/08) local time before leaving for the Netherlands this weekend.

According to news reported by Italian media, LazioNews24, Wednesday (04/08) is the third day of Maurizio Sarri's squad, Lazio undergoes a pre-season training session in Marienfeld and they are scheduled to face SV Meppen who play in the third division of the German League.

The match will kick off at 18.30 local time and will be the first of two friendlies that have been scheduled for this pre-season.  The second match will take place on Saturday this weekend and face Dutch club FC Twente.

SV Meppen finished 17th out of 20 teams in Liga 3 last season by ending the competition collecting 41 points from 12 wins, five draws, and 21 defeats.  They have started regular fixtures in the 2021/22 season and have picked up one win and lost one in their opening two matches.

This is Biancoceleste's first friendly under Maurizio Sarri in which Ciro Immobile, Francesco Acerbi, and Joaquin Corre will be present and play.  Meanwhile, the coach brought 27 players in the squad that traveled to Marienfeld for this pre-season training session which took place in Germany for five days starting from Monday (02/08).
