[OFFICIAL] Mattia Peruzzi Leaves Lazio To Join Tiferno

Lazio's young player, Mattia Peruzzi is reported to have left the capital club and joined Serie D club Tiferno.  He is the son of the Italian legend, Angelo Peruzzi.

According to news reported by Italian media, Primopiano.news on Monday (09/08) local time, it was revealed that the 19-year-old Italian goalkeeper, the son of former team manager Angelo Peruzzi, had followed in his father's footsteps and left the Biancoceleste.

The manager's relationship with president Claudio Lotito deteriorated after the Lazio president refused to give his team manager bigger responsibility which prompted the former goalkeeper to leave the Italian capital club after five years at the Olimpico.

He reportedly wants his son Mattia to join a club where he can get regular playing time with the current first team as he is continuing his development and his choice is Tiferno.

The 19-year-old Mattia made just two appearances for the Primavera team The Aquile coached by Alessandro Calori last season, playing 93 minutes in total.  He conceded one goal and kept one clean sheet on that occasion.

Meanwhile, Maurizio Sarri gave two Primavera The Aquile players the opportunity to train with the first team throughout this pre-season, they are young Spanish talent Raul Moro and this summer's new signing, Luka Romero from Argentina.  The two have also played in several friendly matches.

Statement by President Bianchi: "A great purchase for Peruzzi junior, the son of a great champion to whom a great mutual friendship binds me.  Angelo Peruzzi strongly wanted the Tiferno as his son and we are honored."
