Lazio Will Face Sassuolo In A Friendly This Saturday

Lazio is rumored to be facing Sassuolo in a friendly match that will take place at Frosinone on Saturday (14/08) evening local time.  Maurizio Sarri's team will start their campaign in the 2021/22 Serie A season on 21 August.


As seen in Lazio's official Twitter page post on Tuesday (10/08) local time, it was stated that the Biancoceleste will face Alessio Dionisi's team, Sassuolo in a friendly match that will take place at the Stadio Benito Stirpe, Frosinone on Saturday (14/08) hours  7 pm local time.


Longtime Neroverdi coach Roberto De Zerbi left the club at the end of last season to take charge of Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk who regularly compete in the Champions League every year.


De Zerbi's successor will be the 41-year-old Dionisi who previously managed Empoli and his impressive results at the Tuscany club which brought them promotion to Serie A last season saw him being offered two years in charge of the Neroverdi.


Meanwhile, the Neroverdi have managed to keep their star midfielder, Manuel Locatelli, whose impressive form at Euro 2020 made him the target of several top clubs, and there is still a chance he will join Juventus before the end of this month.


Last season the Neroverdi finished eighth in the Serie A standings with 62 points from 38 games while The Aquile is two places above them, in sixth place with 68 points.
