Leicester City Interested In Lazio Playmaker

Leicester City is reportedly serious about pursuing the signature of Lazio's playmaker, Luis Alberto, when the winter transfer window officially opens in January 2022.

Luis Alberto is no stranger to Premier League culture.  The reason is that the Spanish midfielder has played for Liverpool for three seasons, from 2013 to 2016.

Unfortunately, the player's career at Anfield did not go smoothly after he only got a chance 9 times to appear as the Red's first team in all competitions.

Since then he has moved to Lazio and the 29-year-old midfielder has shown his true qualities with the Biancoceleste.

During his five years living in the Italian capital, Luis Alberto has recorded 180 appearances for Lazio, with an impressive contribution of 36 goals plus 51 assists.

Alberto's impressive appearance is what then makes Leicester City eager to ask for his signature in January.

In a recent report from Fichajes, Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers is eager to reunite with Alberto, who happened to be with him at Liverpool in 2013.

The Foxes look to Alberto in anticipation of the departure of James Maddison, who in recent times has been linked with the exit of the King Power Stadium.

But to be able to bring Alberto back to English soil, Leicester needs to spend a lot of money.

Reporting from the player's website Transfermarkt, the player's contract with Lazio itself will still be valid until June 2025 and the selling price is now estimated to touch the figure of 45 million euros.
