Lazio Is Clearly Relying On Immobile

October 05, 2021

Lazio's dependence on Ciro Immobile is obviously seen.

Lazio has lost nearly half of the matches they have played without star striker Ciro Immobile.

As reported by Italian newspaper La Repubblica, earlier today, of the 26 matches the Biancoceleste have played without the 31-year-old Italian striker, they have only won seven times.

They have also only drawn seven times, meaning the remaining 12 games played without Immobile are all lost.

The Lazio captain's absence was most noticeable in an awful 0-3 defeat to Bologna in Serie A.

By starting the back-up striker, Vedat Muriqi, he failed to match the level of the 31-year-old Italian star.

Immobile has scored six goals in six Serie A games so far this season, already finding good form under coach Maurizio Sarri.

In his five years with Lazio so far, Immobile has scored 156 goals and provided 44 assists in 227 appearances, becoming a leader and symbol in the squad.

The Italian striker is just three goals behind Silvio Piola's all-time goalscoring record of 159 goals for the club.
