Patric Will Set To Start Against Inter After Acerbi's Suspension

October 11, 2021

Lazio defender, Patric is reported to have managed to convince coach Maurizio Sarri and earn a place in his squad, although previously there were doubts. The player has been with him for seven years but his performance is considered inconsistent so that he is often neglected.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, 62-year-old Tuscan coach Maurizio Sarri was previously unsure of the quality of 28-year-old Spanish defender Patric at the start of his arrival this year, but his performances during pre-season training have changed everything.

Sarri was impressed by the defender's hard work, self-sacrifice, and tactical flexibility, all of which helped him to beat veteran defender Stefan Radu in the Biancoceleste squad.

The 28-year-old Spaniard is set to start against Simone Inzaghi's side Inter Milan at the weekend with Francesco Acerbi sidelined due to suspension, giving him another chance to try and win the hearts of the Italian capital club's fans.

Patric has often been criticized by The Aquile fans during his seven-year career at Lazio, but he has always responded with his performances on the pitch, working hard and making him always available to the coach. He is classified as a versatile player because he can be played as a right-back, center-back, defensive midfielder, and right midfielder.

The defender joined Lazio from Catalan giants Barcelona and his first contract is four years in 2019 and after spending seven seasons in the Italian capital in total he has made 128 appearances and scored two goals.
