Sarri Admits He Was Disappointed Lazio Were Held To A Draw At Atalanta In Bergamo

Lazio coach, Maurizio Sarri admitted he was disappointed after his team was only able to draw 2-2 with hosts Atalanta after equalizing through a late goal in the match which took place on Saturday (30/10).  However, he has also seen his team improve in the last two games.

Lazio took the lead twice in the match in Bergamo through Pedro and Ciro Immobile but Atalanta equalized through goals from Duvan Zapata and Marten de Roon in the 94th minute.

"There was a bit of unlucky, a little disappointing because we conceded four minutes before the end of the game," Sarri said via DAZN.

"We'll see if we can build a team based on our performance today and find the consistency we've been looking for."

Sarri once said that Luis Alberto cannot be played alongside Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, but both players have started the last two games with the help of Danilo Cataldi's balance instead of Lucas Leiva.

"Cataldi has always had great technique, even when he was a kid, I tried to sign him when I was at Empoli.  He used to lose the ball a lot in that position, but now he's more used to it and also makes his presence felt defensive because he's a very dynamic player."

In the 1-0 win over Fiorentina and the 2-2 draw against La Dea, the Biancoceleste appeared to have found great fluidity after initially panicking on the ball.

"It feels right, maybe the demand to learn all kinds of new things is a bit of a barrier to their confidence, but the movement is now starting to feel automatic and the players have more freedom to be creative," continued the coach.

"It was very difficult to play from the back against Atalanta because of the high pressure they put on, we worked hard against Fiorentina, whereas this afternoon we showed great character.  If we keep those elements, we can do better in the other games in terms of passing, because that's what made it difficult for us today."
