Acerbi Got A Poor Ratings From Italian Medias For His Performance Against Northern Ireland

November 17, 2021

Lazio defender, Francesco Acerbi did not perform well when Italy was held to a goalless draw by hosts Northern Ireland on Monday (15/11) evening local time.  These results make Roberto Mancini's troops have to go through the play-offs to qualify for Qatar 2022.

As reported by Italian media LazioNews24, 33-year-old defender Francesco Acerbi did not get a satisfactory rating from the Italian media for his performance when the Azzurri were held to a goalless draw by Northern Ireland which left them in second place in the final group standings in Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Acerbi was only given a 5.0 rating by La Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport for its performance while Tuttosport gave it a 5.5 rating due to his poor performance.

While the 33-year-old defender is a player with consistent performances for Lazio this season, working well in Maurizio Sarri's back four.  The player whose contract with the Biancoceleste runs until 2025 has made 14 appearances in the competition so far for a total of 1246 minutes.  In that period he has contributed two assists but also one red card against Bologna.

The Aquile expects the defender to continue his consistent form with the club who will return to competition in Serie A next weekend against Juventus and next week against Lokomotiv Moscow in the Europa League.
