Lazio Still Can't Get A Good Result When Immobile Is Absent

November 24, 2021

Lazio's reliance on their star striker, Ciro Immobile is very evident when looking at their record in the 31-year-old's absence.  The Italian capital club often loses without his presence.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Lazio recorded 13 defeats from 27 matches in all competitions in Ciro Immobile's absence.  Of those 27 matches, 15 of them were in Serie A and eight were lost.

These statistics clearly show Biancoceleste's dependence on the Italian international striker who is currently sidelined with a left calf injury.  One year ago, Felipe Caicedo was a striker who could replace Immobile, scoring a late equalizer against Juventus with an assist from Joaquin Correa.

But 12 months later both players are no longer there and it is clear that Vedat Muriqi is not the right player to fill the role of a reliable backup striker.

The Roma club badly missed Immobile in their 2-0 defeat by Juventus on Saturday with coach Maurizio Sarri's idea of using Pedro as a false nine failed.

Immobile is the provisional top scorer in the 2021/22 Serie A season with a collection of 10 goals along with Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic.  Besides that, Immobile is even more proud of now being the all-time top scorer for The Aquile with a collection of 161 goals.
