Milan Target Luiz Felipe For Replace The Injured Kjaer

Lazio defender who is out of contract, Luiz Felipe, is reportedly a new target for AC Milan amid their efforts to strengthen their defense ahead of the January transfer window.

Il Corriere della Sera stated that Simon Kjaer had undergone arthroscopic surgery on his left knee to repair damage to his cruciate ligament and collateral ligament so that the Rossoneri center-back will be out for six months and his season may be over.

Several targets began to be linked, ranging from old targets they had chased before to new names that management might consider.

According to the latest from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Felipe has emerged as an option for Milan in their search for a new center-back ahead of the January transfer window opening.  The Biancoceleste star is out of contract in 2022, but it will not be easy to convince the capital club to be willing to let him leave six months early without offering him good financial compensation.

Felipe himself has been a crucial figure in Lazio's starting XI over the last two seasons, making 12 appearances in Serie A and four in the Europa League this term.  Transfermarkt said its selling value was in the range of 20 million euros.  With his contract situation, the Rossoneri may be able to bring him at a price below that nominal this winter.
