[Serie A] Lazio - Hellas Verona = 3 - 3


The final Serie A match of the 2021/22 season took place at the Stadio Olimpico, and Lazio played an exciting game that ended in a 3-3 draw with their guests Hellas Verona. One point is enough to secure a fifth place at the final table and a place in next season's Europa League.


Lazio has confirmed their Europa League place but needs a point to above Roma to fifth in Serie A. Patric and Koray Gunter were suspended while Ciro Immobile, Luis Alberto, and Antonin Barak were injured.


It took just six minutes to break the block and the home defender looked complacent as Darko Lazovic's cross crossed and was met by Giovanni Simeone's header to give Verona a 1-0 lead.


Hellas Verona managed to extend the lead with a quick counter-attack and Kevin Lasagna put his name on the scoreboard in the 14th minute.  The Biancocelesti reacted quickly and Felipe Anderson provided the pass for Jovane Cabral, who made it 2-1 in the 16th minute. 


Then Felipe Anderson completed his home comeback. He missed the opportunity for the first time, but he managed to score in the top corner of the away goal in the 28th minute, leveling 2-2, which lasted until halftime.


The hosts attempted to add a goal after the break and turned it around when Pedro crossed for Felipe Anderson, but the Verona keeper cleared his chances. The Spaniard rebounded and scored in the 62nd minute to give the team a 3-2 lead.


In the 76th minute, Gialoblu finally equalized the score through Hongla, making the score 3:3. The final result for both teams was 3-3, and it was the end of the match for both teams in Serie A this season.
