FC Copenhagen Set To Make Vavro's Contract Permanent This Summer

Danish Premier League club Copenhagen is reportedly set to make the contract of a loan player from Lazio, Denis Vavro permanent, this summer. The defender returned to his old club in January after being sidelined at the Olimpico.

Slovakian center-back Denis Vavro, 26, returned to Copenhagen FC in the transfer market last winter after failing to break into Maurizio Sarri's squad in Rome.  The defender quickly found success there and is now set to return permanently. In the 2021/22 season, he played 10 times in the league and contributed 1 goal.

Corriere dello Sport reports that Copenhagen is one step closer to reaching an agreement with Lazio on a permanent transfer for Vavro. An agreement could be reached for a transfer valued at around 5 million euros, which is slightly less than the 7 million euros agreed in January.

Back in the summer of 2019, Lazio paid 10 million euros for Vavro, something that sporting director Igli Tare wishes to forget as his investment was deemed a failure.

Vavro made 21 appearances for The Aquile in his two-and-a-half seasons at Rome, totaling just 878 minutes. During this period he was unable to impress and was shown a red card.
