[Official] Maurizio Sarri Extends His Contract With Lazio Until 2025

It was in the air, but it's official now: Lazio officially extend Maurizio Sarri's contract. The 63-year-old coach will stay at the Olimpico for the next three years.

"SS Lazio announces that coach Maurizio Sarri has renewed his contract and his term has been extended until 2025," Lazio's official statement read.

Sarri, who was appointed to coach Lazio last June, was initially offered only a contract until 2023. In his first season, he led the Aquile to fifth in Serie A, securing a place in next season's Europa League.

Lazio's management seems to think the result is satisfactory. Sarri has been awarded a new contract until 2025 in hopes of building a strong team in the long term.

Sportitalia reports that Sarri earns 3.5 million euros per season plus bonuses. The contract was signed at the Lazio headquarters on Wednesday night local time. The Lazio coach expects market guarantees, and Lotito assures him that a revolution is imminent.

During his career, Sarri led Chelsea to a Europa League title in 2019, his first season abroad, and a Serie A title with Juventus in 2020, the Bianconeri's last Serie A title until now.
