[Official] Empoli Sign Akpa Akpro From Lazio On Loan


Lazio parted ways with Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro, who has become Empoli's new player these minutes. The Ivorian midfielder will be on loan in Tuscany until June 30, 2023, with his contract already deposited in the league. Here is the official press release from Lazio and Empoli:


"S.S. Lazio announces that it has temporarily transferred the registration rights of player Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro to Empoli FC until 30/06/2023."


"Empoli FC announces that it has temporarily acquired from Lazio the rights to provide sports services for footballer Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro."


Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro is an Ivorian and French midfielder born on October 11, 1992, in Toulouse. Akpa Akpro grew up in Toulouse's youth team and made his Ligue 1 debut on 6 August 2011 against Ajaccio. During his six seasons at Toulouse, Jean-Daniel made 121 appearances in the French top flight.


In February 2018, he joined Salernitana in Serie B until he was bought by Lazio in 2020. In his first season in Lazio, Akpa Akpro made 32 league appearances, including 8 in the Champions League and 2 in the Coppa Italia. Has been with Lazio last season, making 10 league appearances and three in the Europa League.


After deciding to play for the Ivorian national team, Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro was called up to the 2014 World Cup, won the African Cup of Nations the following year, and was called up to the 2022 African Cup of Nations.
