Cragnotti: "Being From Lazio Means Having A Passion For Your Team, Being Proud Of This Shirt, And Always Trying To Support It, During Good Times And Bad."

January 11, 2023

January 9th is significant for Lazio, but it's also significant to those who have played a significant role in Biancoceleste's history. Sergio Cragnotti, a former Lazio president who was capable of taking the team to the top of Europe, also shares a birthday with Lazio. For the occasion, Cittaceleste contacted Sergio Cragnotti directly during the broadcast on Cittaceleste TV and Radiosei.

The former president thanked them for the good wishes and explained:

"I want to thank you all for the kind words. I appreciate it. Being from Lazio means having a passion for your team, being proud of this shirt, and always trying to support it, during good times and bad. I don't understand why the Cragnotti project failed, it was successful for us as well because there were many talented players around."

"It was simple to transition between exits and arrival. Today, I believe it's more difficult to identify players who have given as much to the sport as they did during their prime. The players of the 90s and 2000s possessed a skill that is rare today."

He then also briefly discussed the current Lazio president Claudio Lotito and the stadium project:

"We speak nothing for this anniversary, but I've encountered him and he was very friendly, we talked for a long time.  Stadium?  He wants to do it, let's see if he can."

Another glimmer of hope for Lazio fans, who still harbor the desire to be able to return to play and celebrate within the walls of the Flaminio stadium.
