[Official] Fiorentina Secure Fazzini’s Signature From Empoli Following Their Relegation
After months of speculation and transfer rumors linking him with a move to Lazio, Jacopo Fazzini has officially become a Fiorentina player, marking a significant addition to the Viola’s midfield ranks ahead of the new Serie A season.
The Florence-based club confirmed the signing of Fazzini from Empoli through an official statement on their website. The Italy U21 international joins Fiorentina in a deal reportedly worth €10 million plus bonuses, putting an end to the chase for one of Italy’s brightest young midfield talents.
Born in Massa in 2003 and a product of Empoli’s renowned academy, Fazzini made his Serie A debut at just 19 and has already amassed 76 professional appearances—an impressive feat for a player of his age. He arrives at Fiorentina after a season in which he contributed six goals and one assist in 22 appearances, despite battling muscular issues and being unable to prevent Empoli’s drop to Serie B.
Fazzini expressed his excitement in his first interview as a Viola player, sharing his lifelong connection to the club:
“This sports center is fantastic—I couldn’t wait to see it. My whole family and I have always been Viola fans, so this is something really special for me. I’m eager to get started and help the team reach our goals in the league, the cup, and the Conference League.”
He also revealed that positive conversations with fellow youngsters, including Ndour from the national team, helped convince him of the move:
“Everyone spoke very highly of Fiorentina, so my decision was easy. Now that I’m here, I’m even more convinced.”
