Lazio Offers Basic To Salernitana To Facilitate New Player Transfers

It is reported that Lazio offered Toma Basic to Salernitana to facilitate the transfer of new players during the January transfer window. Until just less than 10 days before the transfer market closed, the Italian capital's club had not acquired any new players.

Lazio has not signed any new players with less than 10 days remaining in the transfer market, they only released Dimitrije Kamenovic as a loan to Slavia Prague. The liquidity index prevented the Roman club from acquiring additional players, which forced them to reduce the size of their roster by a few players before adding a few additional individuals.

According to reports from the Corriere dello Sport, Biancoceleste attempted to sell or loan Mohamed Fares this month but little progress has been made. As a result, the club offered Toma Basic to Salernitana.

The Croatian midfielder was purchased from Bordeaux for 7 million euros in August of 2021. He has struggled to garner consistent playing time this season under Maurizio Sarri, only playing 361 minutes in all competitions in Serie A.

The Aquile was a little disappointed with Basic's slow adaptation process in Italy and expected Basic's loan stint in Salerno to help him adapt to Serie A football. Right now, he currently can't compete with Luis Alberto and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in Maurizio Sarri's midfield.
