Sarri Asked For Giuntoli As Tare's Replacement At Lazio

Maurizio Sarri and Igli Tare reportedly had a dispute at Lazio, the coach reportedly requested that Napoli's Cristiano Giuntoli be brought in to replace Tare last year.  Several times, they both did not hesitate to express their differing opinions.

Italian coach Maurizio Sarri and Albanian sporting director Igli Tare have reportedly been in contention on several occasions this season.  The coach is displeased with the quality of the newcomers, while the director is upset with reports that his team is not strong enough to enter the Champions League.

Il Messaggero reported since last year Sarri proposed that Tare be replaced by Giuntoli, who has continued to impress as the sporting director for Napoli, bringing in players like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Kim Min-Jae, and Giacomo Raspadori.

Meanwhile, Tare's current Biancoceleste contract is scheduled to expire in just over six months, but he is expected to agree to a new three-and-a-half-year contract with the coach having the final say.  The two disagree over the type of players that should be signed, this will lead to issues in the market next summer.

Last summer, Lazio acquired eight new players in the market while in the January market, they only brought in one new addition to bolster the first team, Luca Pellegrini.
