Sarri: "Similar To Other European Competitions, This Must Be Respected. Every Game Will Be Difficult, No Games Will Be Simple."

Sarri emphasized the importance of respecting the European Conference League competition before the play-off against CFR Cluj, which will take place on Thursday (16/02) evening local time.

In the Europa League, Lazio was inconsistent during this season's competition, which led to them finishing third in a group that included Feyenoord, Midtjylland, and Sturm Graz. As a result, they were relegated to the Europa Conference League.

During his news conference, Maurizio Sarri discussed his opinion of the European Conference League.

"Similar to other European competitions, this must be respected and we will do it," said the coach as quoted by Football-Italia.

Afterward, he was questioned if Serie A was a priority for the Biancoceleste and if the squad would be rotated.

"This league will allow us to receive more money and for the club, it's important if we consider the sporting side, a European competition should be of interest to us."

"I will decide based on the fatigue of the players, but I still don't know who will take the role of goalkeeper."

The 64-year-old coach also responded to the question of whether or not this match against CFR Cluj would be a good opportunity for reserve players to demonstrate their skills.

"They must demonstrate it during training, otherwise they'll receive opportunities on the bench occasionally," the coach explained.

"Pellegrini is improving, he needs to adapt to a different lineup than other Italian clubs, he is still not ready, even though he is trying his hardest. We'll see tomorrow."

Next, the coach commented on The Aquile's potential opponent, Cluj.

"At the European level, every game will be difficult, no games will be simple. If we have this mentality, we'll be stuck in the shallow end."
