Maurizio Sarri is proud of the team's performance in the 2-0 victory over Monza on Sunday (02/04). The squad is praiseworthy for their focused and mature behavior. The Italian coach explained that his relationship with the club in the capital is a long-term project that he enjoys.

The Aquile silenced the hosts Monza's ambition with a preplanned strategy and took the lead in the 13th minute through Pedro, they doubled their lead through Sergej Milinkovic-Savic's free kick in the second half.

This was an important victory for Lazio, who now have greater confidence in their chances of qualifying for the top four of the table with 10 matches remaining this season.

Maurizio Sarri spoke about his team's success, which again had a clean sheet.

"Yes, let's not exaggerate it, we've elevated the defenders to a remarkable degree, this is appropriate to play like this, the entire team participates more and has a greater awareness. It wasn't that we believed we would never concede a goal, but the perception that we were tough was still there," the coach said via DAZN.

"This is the outcome of the player's attributes, their performances on the field, and the defensive mentality that has become a part of the entire team."

Next, he discussed his joy and long-term goals with the Lazio club.

"In football, the clause that allows a player to leave the team is present, except in a new contract, this clause is absent. If someone doesn't want to remain at the club, it is difficult to maintain them, even if they are a coach," he said.

"I still have two more years with the club, I feel happy at Lazio, I feel a part of them, they make me feel important. If nothing extraordinary occurs, this project is long-term; I will not resign from my position as a coach here."

"Lazio are strange; on the outside, you don't notice it, but on the inside, they embrace you."
