Artistico Set For Lazio Departure As Clubs Battle For His Signature
Lazio striker Gabriele Artistico is set for another move away from Rome, with the club focused on slimming down their squad amid a summer transfer ban on new arrivals. However, the 21-year-old’s next destination remains uncertain as negotiations with interested clubs continue to stall.
Having spent last season on successive loans at Juve Stabia and Cosenza, Artistico returns to Formello only briefly, as Lazio have made it clear he is among the players available for transfer. With the club unable to bring in new faces, outgoing transfers are the main priority this summer.
Spezia have been leading the chase for the young forward, following their long-standing interest and coach Luca D’Angelo’s specific request to bring him in. Despite this, talks between the clubs have reached a deadlock. Lazio, under president Claudio Lotito, are pushing for a loan deal with a right to buy and a counter-buyback clause, while Spezia prefer a more definitive solution with a loan and obligation to buy.
The stalemate has opened the door for other clubs to step in. Salernitana, looking to rebuild following relegation to Serie C, have registered their interest in Artistico as they look to inject fresh talent into their squad under new coach Raffaele. Catanzaro and Avellino have also been linked, but the player’s preference reportedly remains a move to Spezia, having set his sights on wearing the Bianconeri shirt next season.
With Lazio’s transfer policy restricted to outgoing moves, there’s a sense of urgency to resolve Artistico’s situation. Both clubs are under pressure to reach a compromise, and sources close to the negotiations suggest that the coming days will be decisive.
For now, the saga continues, but one thing is clear: Gabriele Artistico’s future lies away from Rome. Whether he will finally join Spezia, or another club takes the initiative, will soon be revealed as Lazio race to finalize their summer sales.
