Immobile Once Again Will Be Called Up By Mancini For The Next Nations League Match

Roberto Mancini is said to be returning to call on Lazio captain Ciro Immobile for the Nation League match.  Previously, the 33-year-old striker was criticized for the Azzuri's inability to score goals.

Ciro Immobile, Lazio's regular striker, is allegedly ready to be recalled by coach Roberto Mancini to boost the Italian national side ahead of the Nations League quarterfinals next month.

The 33-year-old has been the subject of the greatest amount of criticism in the Azzurri's squad in recent years, as a result of his accusers accusing him of failing to contribute to the team's lack of goals, fans began protesting his inability to emulate his club-record scoring while playing for his country.

Immobile has not participated for the Italian national football team in over a year, the last time he was seen was in the March 2022 loss to North Macedonia in a World Cup play-off.

However, the most recent news as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport is that Mancini will have Immobile called up to the Azzurri for the semi-final against Spain, which will take place on June 15th, if the Azzurri win this match, they will qualify for the finals held on June 18th.

The Azzurri's coach will also consider other strikers, including Giacomo Raspadori from Napoli and Mateo Retegui from Tigre.  Empoli's striker Nicolo Cambiaghi, who has scored six goals in Serie A matches this season, is also likely to be part of the team.
