Tonali's Suspension Spurs Newcastle's Midfielder Search, Paving The Way For Milinkovic-Savic's Early European Return

Having worn the jersey of Lazio for 8 years, Sergej Milinkovic Savic has departed the club. The Serbian midfielder accepted Al-Hilal's offer and journeyed to Saudi Arabia. A 1995-class talent, Milinkovic-Savic has been a central figure in the Roshn Saudi League, boasting 3 goals and 2 assists in 9 games. Although the Sergeant has signed a 3-year deal with his new club, it is surprising to note that he may return to European football in the future.

The suspension of Sandro Tonali could potentially prompt Newcastle to seek additional support for their midfield. Calciomercato.it reports that the first choice on their list is Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City, who is currently not in Pep Guardiola's hierarchy. It is important to note, however, that Milinkovic-Savic should also be considered as a potential option. This is because both the British club and Al-Hilal are managed by the PIF fund, and there may be a streamlined process for transferring the Serbian to the Premier League. While it is currently just a suggestion, it is not ruled out that there could be some movement in this direction come January.
