Casale Has Returned To Training And Will Be Ready For The Match Against Hellas Verona

December 04, 2023

Lazio has received some positive updates from their training center in Formello regarding the injury of Nicolo Casale. The defender has made noteworthy strides in his rehabilitation process. Casale, who is a 25-year-old central defender, began the current season as a regular player in Maurizio Sarri's team due to his exceptional partnership with Alessio Romagnoli.

Last October, during his training with The Aquile, Casale sustained an adductor injury that prevented him from participating in the last seven matches across all competitions. Before that, he was also plagued by accusations of involvement in a gambling scandal that took place in Serie A.

As per the reports from Il Messaggero, it has been disclosed that Casale has resumed running on the Formello field and could potentially rejoin the Lazio squad soon, which would certainly fortify the defensive line of the capital club.

During this time, Romagnoli also experienced an injury to his calf, causing Sarri to choose Patric and Mario Gila as the starting center backs for the previous three games against Salernitana, Celtic, and Cagliari.

Meanwhile, Casale does not appear to be able to play against Genoa in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday night, but he may be available for the encounter against Hellas Verona on December 9.
