Real Madrid Have Been Keeping An Eye On Gila's Progress And Hopes To Re-Sign Him In January

Real Madrid is said to have expressed interest in bringing back 23-year-old Spanish center-back Mario Gila on loan from Serie A club Lazio during the upcoming January transfer window. Currently, the player is not a regular in Maurizio Sarri's squad, which could potentially lead to a transfer to secure more playing time.

SER Deportivos has reported that Mario Gila has caught the attention of Real Madrid, one of the giants in La Liga, as they seek to bolster their central defense in the January transfer window. Real Madrid has been closely observing Lazio's central defender, intending to potentially acquire his services through a loan arrangement that includes a purchase option embedded in his contract.

Since he arrived at Biancoceleste in July 2022, Mario Gila has shown steady progress. The 23-year-old defender has played for six Spanish clubs throughout his career, beginning in the youth division with Santa Perpetua de Moguda and later moving on to CE Sabadell, CF Mollet UE, CF Damm, Espanyol, and Real Madrid.

The 23-year-old player graduated from El Real's La Fabrica tier but was unable to enter into the Santiago Bernabeu main squad. It's incredible that he only made two appearances for the first team. Until he decided to join The Aquile in Italy, where he was also not a regular, making only 20 appearances in the last 18 months, including eight this season.

However, Gila's recent performance for the Serie A team has piqued the interest of his former club, Los Blancos, who want to sign him in the January transfer window. Carlo Ancelotti only has two completely fit center-backs after David Alaba and Eder Militao were out for long periods with knee injuries.

However, it is unknown whether The Aquile will allow Gila to lend his services in the January market, but Los Blancos will include a buy option clause in their offer, and it will be intriguing to watch whether Gila will return to his old club in January.
