Lazio Intends To Hold A Special Tribute For Eriksson At The Stadio Olimpico Next Month

Lazio are said to be organizing a special tribute for their former coach, Sven-Goran Eriksson, at the Stadio Olimpico next month. Eriksson, who is currently battling terminal cancer, led The Aquile to numerous triumphs, including the Scudetto in the 1999/2000 season and two Coppa Italias from 1997 to 2001. He revealed his diagnosis in January, which gave him a year to live.

This news prompted an outpouring of concern and support from both Lazio fans and the wider football community. Eriksson has been honored at Liverpool and Benfica for his career achievements, and now Lazio plans to join in by commemorating his contributions.

According to reports from Il Messaggero, the Biancoceleste are diligently preparing a celebration for the 50th anniversary of the 1974 Scudetto, with one of the highlights being Eriksson's return on May 12. This event will not only pay homage to Eriksson but also educate fans about the club's historic league triumphs that are cherished by supporters.

Before the match against Lecce in January, Lazio fans displayed banners expressing solidarity and encouragement for Eriksson, with messages like "The fight has started, Mr. Sven, we stand with you!"
