Lazio Keep Close Watch As Casale Nears Permanent Move To Bologna

As the Coppa Italia final between Bologna and Milan approaches, Lazio will be watching with particular interest—not just for the silverware at stake, but because Nicolò Casale’s future could soon be sealed.

The 27-year-old center-back, who left Lazio last summer on loan to Bologna, is on the verge of making his move permanent. The loan deal includes a conditional obligation to buy, which would be triggered if Bologna secure European qualification—either through Serie A placement or a Coppa Italia victory. In such a case, the Emilian club would be required to purchase Casale outright for €7 million.

According to Il Resto del Carlino, Bologna are keen to keep Casale regardless of the final outcome. However, a European qualification would solidify the deal and make the transfer from Lazio permanent, locking in a fee that represents solid value for the rossoblù.

For Lazio, the potential sale would provide a modest financial return and open space in the squad as they continue shaping the defense for the upcoming campaign. As the cup final nears, all eyes will be on Casale—not just for his performance, but for the transfer implications that follow.
