[Official] Reina Begins New Chapter As Villarreal U19 Coach

Pepe Reina, after closing out an illustrious playing career that spanned decades and was filled with memorable achievements, has decided to transition into coaching. The veteran goalkeeper, whose final match ended with an early red card in Como-Inter, wasted no time mapping out his next steps in football.

Villarreal CF has officially announced that Reina will take the helm as the coach of their Under-19 team. Reina, who enjoyed two spells at Villarreal—from 2002 to 2005 and again from 2022 to 2024—now returns to Spain to begin this new challenge.

The former Biancoceleste and Yellows shot-stopper brings his experience and passion to the Villarreal U19 squad, marking his first journey into coaching. Reina’s homecoming is set to inspire a new generation of talent as he takes his place on the sidelines for the upcoming season.
