Record Season Ticket Surge Reflects Lazio Fans’ Faith In Sarri’s Return

July 24, 2025

In the face of financial turmoil, a disappointing end to last season, and visible unrest toward the club’s management, the passion of Lazio’s supporters remains unwavering. The 2025/26 Serie A campaign is still weeks away, but already the Biancoceleste faithful have delivered a powerful response—season ticket sales are soaring, painting a vivid picture of loyalty and hope.

Last season’s journey ended on a sour note for Lazio. Marco Baroni’s promising start faded, with elimination from the Europa League at the hands of Bodo/Glimt followed by a shock defeat to Lecce, which cost the team a place in European competition for the coming year. Off the pitch, the club’s unbalanced finances resulted in a transfer ban imposed by COVISOC, leaving the squad unable to welcome new arrivals this summer. Protests erupted in Rome, with fans voicing their frustration at Claudio Lotito and the club’s leadership.

Yet, despite their disappointment and anger, Lazio supporters have once again rallied around the team. In just the first week of general season ticket sales, 25,000 subscriptions were snapped up—a testament to the club’s deep-rooted sense of community and belonging. “After the first week of general sales, we already have 25,000 subscribers! This result demonstrates the passion and sense of belonging of our fans,” the club stated in a message on their official website. “But we’re not satisfied yet: the goal is to surpass last year’s achievements, together. If you haven’t already, subscribe now! Lazio is home. And home is defended with all our heart.”

As of July 23, 2025, the number of season tickets sold has climbed past 26,000, with sections such as the Curva Nord and the Distinti Nord Over and Nord Est already sold out. Last season’s tally stands at 29,036, just shy of the all-time record of 30,333 set during the Champions League run in 2023/24. The campaign’s momentum, however, suggests this record may be under threat, especially as Maurizio Sarri’s highly anticipated second stint in charge has brought renewed optimism.
