Zaccagni: "Sarri Certainly Brings A Lot Of Enthusiasm. His Style Of Play Has Been Able To Re-Energize The Fans, Despite The Obstacles In The Transfer Market."
Mattia Zaccagni has spoken from Coverciano, where he is currently on retreat with the Italian national team. The Lazio captain reflected on the club’s present moment, the influence of coach Maurizio Sarri, and his long-term commitment to the Biancoceleste.
Zaccagni praised the role of Sarri, underlining the coach’s ability to lift the atmosphere around the club.
“Sarri certainly brings a lot of enthusiasm. We all know who he is and what he has achieved. His style of play has been able to re-energize the fans, despite the obstacles in the transfer market,” he said.
The winger admitted that Lazio’s current difficulties are part of the journey and can serve as extra motivation.
“We take all of this as a challenge and want to see the positive side. We are ready to play our cards right,” Zaccagni added.
When asked about the possibility of spending his entire career with Lazio, Zaccagni avoided a definitive response, but highlighted the importance of his most recent contract renewal.
“Lazio for life? I don’t know. About a year and a half ago, I made an important choice by extending my contract until 2029. I feel very comfortable here. I am captain and proud of that. I see a bright future,” he explained.
Finally, the captain dedicated a message to the Biancoceleste supporters, reaffirming the squad’s commitment.
“We will give everything we have in every game to make them happy,” he concluded.
