After Ratkov Arrival, Kenneth Taylor Could Be Lazio’s Next Signing In January

Lazio’s January rebuild is moving fast, and Kenneth Taylor is now at the center of it.

After the exits of Valentín Castellanos and Matteo Guendouzi, the Biancocelesti have accelerated their plans to refresh Maurizio Sarri’s squad with younger legs and immediate quality. The latest name close to landing in Rome is Ajax midfielder Kenneth Taylor, a 2002 born Dutchman who has been on Lazio’s radar for days and is now in advanced talks.

Multiple reports in Italy describe negotiations as well advanced, with Lazio and Ajax working around a package worth about 15 million euros plus bonuses that can push the figure higher.

The remaining work is mainly on the player side, where the final details of the agreement still need to be completed before the green light for travel and medical checks.

Fabrizio Romano’s update suggests Taylor himself is keen on the move and is pushing for the process to be cleared quickly so he can arrive in Rome as soon as possible.

Taylor is not a pure specialist for only one job. Lazio view him as a modern midfielder who can offer energy and technique, with the flexibility to operate deeper when needed or step forward when the team needs an extra presence between the lines.

This season, he has contributed goals and assists across his appearances for Ajax, a profile that matches Sarri’s long standing request for more output from midfield.

The direction is clear: Lazio want Taylor to be the key piece in reshaping the midfield after Guendouzi’s departure, and the next steps are expected to be decisive once personal terms are fully aligned.

If Lazio close the final details in time, Taylor could become the next face of this new cycle, a signing built not only for the present, but also for the seasons that follow.
