Pellegrini: "We’re Working Every Day To Overcome This Situation. We’re Really Hungry For Revenge. That’s Why I Remain Confident For The Rest Of The Season."
Lazio defender Luca Pellegrini has spoken to the club’s Match Program ahead of Lazio vs Genoa, scheduled for Friday, January 30th at 8:45 PM.
In a calm but determined message, Pellegrini underlined one key idea: Lazio want a strong reaction after their latest results, and the group is trying to turn the page together.
Asked about restarting after recent performances, Pellegrini insisted the squad is responding in the right way behind the scenes.
“We’re working every day to overcome this situation, trying to focus the end of the season on the right path,” he said. “The group is responding well in this regard and is coming together even more. We’re really hungry for revenge.”
It is not just about one match, but about changing the mood and direction for the rest of the campaign, starting with a solid performance at the Olimpico.
Pellegrini also shared positive words about Lazio’s new arrivals, saying they have integrated quickly and shown the mentality the squad needs at this stage of the season.
“Very well, they’re demonstrating a desire to perform well and dedication,” he explained. “I’ve seen them all fired up and ready to demonstrate their qualities. I hope they can help us.”
The message was clear: Lazio are expecting immediate energy and impact, not a slow adaptation period.
Perhaps the most revealing moment came when Pellegrini spoke about the emotional side of the current situation. As a known Lazio supporter, he admitted it is not always easy to switch off.
“Right now, the most difficult thing is separating emotion from the current situation. It’s not an easy time,” he said. “On the one hand, being a fan is an added bonus because it gets you totally involved, but on the other, it prevents you from mentally disconnecting even when you’re at home; it becomes your obsession.”
Still, he ended on a note of belief, pointing to the strength of the dressing room as the reason he remains optimistic.
“Fortunately, however, as I said, we have a good group, and that’s positive because it helps everyone,” Pellegrini concluded. “That’s why I remain confident for the rest of the season.”
