[Serie A] Lazio - Napoli = 0 - 2
Lazio suffered a tough night at the Stadio Olimpico, losing 2–0 to Napoli in a tense Serie A match that was marked by three red cards and growing frustration for the Biancoceleste.
Despite missing several key players through injury, Napoli showed calm and control from the early stages. The reigning champions managed the game with patience and experience, while Lazio struggled to find rhythm and attacking solutions.
Napoli took the lead in the 13th minute. A dangerous cross from Matteo Politano reached the far post, where Leonardo Spinazzola was left completely unmarked and finished with a clean volley to make it 1–0.
The visitors doubled their advantage in the 32nd minute. Once again Politano was involved, this time delivering a free kick into the box. Amir Rrahmani rose highest and headed the ball into the bottom corner, giving Lazio a mountain to climb.
Napoli nearly killed the match before half time when Eljif Elmas hit the crossbar with a header, underlining the visitors’ dominance in the first half.
The second half brought more tension than football. Napoli suffered another injury scare when David Neres limped off the pitch. The stoppage led to a brief confrontation between players, resulting in yellow cards for Rrahmani and Lazio forward Tijjani Noslin.
Lazio’s situation worsened in the 81st minute when Noslin was shown a straight red card for a reckless challenge on Alessandro Buongiorno, leaving the home side with ten men during the closing stages.
Tempers flared again just before full time. A heated clash between Lazio captain Adam Marusic and Napoli’s Pasquale Mazzocchi forced Napoli coach Antonio Conte to step onto the pitch to calm the situation. Both players were eventually sent off, bringing the total number of red cards to three.
The final whistle confirmed a disappointing evening for Lazio. The scoreline reflected Napoli’s efficiency and control, while the red cards and lack of attacking clarity highlighted the challenges still facing the Biancoceleste as the season progresses.
