Lazio Starts Pre-Season Session In Marienfeld Earlier This Week
Lazio will continue their pre-season preparations with a visit to Marienfeld, Germany on Monday (02/08) local time. Previously, Maurizio Sarri's team had carried out the first stage of pre-season training at Auronzo di Cadore for more than two weeks.
According to news reported by Italian media, LazioNews24 on Sunday (01/08) morning local time, the Lazio squad has regrouped at the club's training center in Formello on Saturday (31/07) local time, with key players such as Ciro Immobile, Francesco Acerbi, and Joaquin Correa has joined up with their team-mates for the first time this summer.
The Biancoceleste squad is scheduled to fly to Dortmund on Monday local time and then head to Marienfeld for a five-day training session. On 7 August, Maurizio Sarri's side will then travel to Enschede in the Netherlands where they will face Eredivisie side Twente in a friendly on Saturday evening local time.
The Aquile previously spent 18 days in the first phase of pre-season training which took place at Auronzo di Cadore, with coach Sarri having worked hard to instill his thoughts in the players and teach them the movement needed to start the new season. For this training session in Germany, the coach is certainly armed with a smaller squad than in the first pre-season session.
The Italian capital club's opening match will be against promoted team Empoli on 21 August.
