No Backup Striker Come, Sarri Will Rely on Felipe Anderson As A False Nine

Lazio coach, Maurizio Sarri has prepared a plan to play Felipe Anderson as a false nine after his club did not bring in a new striker in the January market.  The Italian capital club only brought in one player, namely Jovane Cabral who is a winger.

Corriere dello Sport reports that Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri wants to bring back the best of Brazilian winger, Felipe Anderson, the player has started the season in a great way but tends to experience a decline in form and is slowly starting to make his contribution to Rome less visible.

Until the close of the January transfer window, the Biancoceleste certainly failed to land a substitute striker for Ciro Immobile, but the 63-year-old coach is ready to use Felipe Anderson as a false nine, he can do it from the start or throughout the match.

While the Brazilian winger also wants to get back to his best again he can be used like Dries Mertens according to the version of the 63-year-old Italian coach.  So far Anderson has made 30 appearances in all competitions with a total of 2198 minutes.  In that period he has scored four goals and contributed six assists.

Sarri's first attempt can be made in the first match of the month when The Aquile faces Fiorentina on 5 February in the continuation of the 2021/22 Serie A season which will take place at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
