Sarri Sets New Lazio Transfer Market Policy And Record

August 02, 2022

Fifteen signings and three transfers in 12 months have revolutionized Lazio after Simone Inzaghi left.

The task is not easy. The departure of Simone Inzaghi and the decision to opt for the Maurizio Sarri project forced Lazio to change principles, mentality, and above all the team.

The hardcore that had been Formello's soul for five and a half years had to be dismembered and rebuilt. A lot of players say goodbye to the eagle on their chest because they have given everything they have.

Lotito and Sarri have had a tough job. "You can't do everything in one transfer market session," the coach repeated last season. The president, however, came close as he took two sessions with a January in between which brought only Kamenovic as a reinforcement, actually already blocked twelve months earlier.

A total of 15 players have landed at Formello, changing the biancoceleste squad. As the usual Radiosei news reviews highlight, this is a real innovation and gear change from the past. Everyone agrees on one thing: locker rooms need fresh air. The coach now has more solutions and players to match his formation.

Last season, they landed in Hysaj, Felipe Anderson, Luka Romero, Basic, Pedro, and Zaccagni. This summer, the big step came this summer with Marcos Antonio, Cancellieri, Casale, Gila, Romagnoli, Maximiano, Vecino, and Provedel.

Provedel is still waiting for the yes from Dragowski to Spezia, which would unlock the domino effect.  To these are added the renewals of Patric and Radu, strongly desired by the Biancoceleste coach.

In short, the new face and muscle give Sarri plenty of options and two teams that can switch between championships and cups. From here to the end of the market, fans are dreaming of the icing on the cake that could come if some fringe players part away with the capital. Left-footed left-back is still vacant roles.
