Romagnoli: "In Serie A Nothing Is Easy, Against A Team Like Milan Who Are Very Physical And Aggressive, They Were Very Good At Dealing With Our Attack, We Are Sorry Because We Should Have Done Better."


Alessio Romagnoli returned to the San Siro on Saturday (06/05) to take part in the match against his former club, AC Milan, although this was not as anticipated by Lazio, as they lost 2-0 in the match. The defender admitted that he was emotional during his encounter with the Rossoneri.


Alessio Romagnoli left AC Milan as a free agent after the previous season he failed to reach an agreement with the club regarding his contract extension. Then he signed a contract with his childhood dream club, Lazio and he has shown good form this season although last Saturday was not a good day for him.


The defender discussed the match as well as the effort to reach the Champions League, he also described the experience of playing against Milan at the San Siro.


"We conceded two goals at the start it was not easy, against a team like Milan who are very physical and aggressive, it was difficult to gain space, they were very good at dealing with our attack, we are sorry because we should have done better," the defender said via DAZN.


"I initially felt emotional, but when the referee started the game everything disappeared, before and after it was nice to meet a lot of my former teammates, many of whom I have a close relationship with, it was very emotional."
