[Serie A] Lazio - Atalanta = 3 - 2

The 8th round of matches in the Italian Serie A 2023/2024 league has concluded. At the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Lazio emerged victorious over Atalanta. Despite gaining three more points, Lazio is still struggling to climb up the rankings and remains in the middle of the table.

Lazio had a swift advantage as they managed to score within the first five minutes of the game thanks to Charles De Ketelaere's own goal. Following this, Valentin Castellanos was able to double the lead by finishing off Felipe Anderson's assist in the 11th minute of the game.

Lazio was taken aback after initially gaining the lead, allowing Atalanta to make a comeback with a goal by Ederson in the 33rd minute. Matteo Ruggeri provided a cross which Ederson received and fired into the net, bringing the score to 2-1, which remained until the conclusion of the first half.

In the second half, Atalanta made an effort to recover from their previous setbacks. They applied pressure to the opposing team's defense. After some time, the patience of the La Dea players was rewarded when Sead Kolasinac scored a goal in the 63rd minute, resulting in a 2-2 tie.

However, Lazio managed to maintain their lead and secure a 3-2 victory, thanks to Matias Vecino's goal in the 83rd minute. Despite this victory, Lazio also lost their coach in the final minutes due to Sarri's red card for verbal abuse.

Lazio now occupies the 13th position in the standings with 10 points from eight matches, while Atalanta remains in sixth place with 13 points, all thanks to this crucial win.
