Some Premier League Clubs Are Keeping An Eye On Provedel

November 15, 2023

Ivan Provedel and the defense of Lazio have begun to recover after a rather lackluster beginning to the season. According to reports, multiple Premier League clubs are keeping an eye on the Italian goalkeeper due to his exceptional performances over the last 18 months.

Provedel was initially brought in as a backup for Luis Maximiano, but he swiftly took over the starting position from the Portuguese player and has since established himself as one of the top goalkeepers in Serie A.

Il Messaggero recently reported that the agent representing the goalkeeper has started to hint at the prospect of receiving a higher salary for his client's outstanding performances. Currently, the goalkeeper is only being paid 1.2 million annually, which is significantly less than other top club goalkeepers.

Despite the circumstances, Provedel remains bound by his contract with Lazio until 2027. For this reason, negotiations regarding the extension of his contract are not currently at the forefront of the team's concerns. Other players' contracts take priority and require immediate attention.

Meanwhile, regarding the interest of clubs from England, the president of Claudio Lotito has stated that a minimum of 20 million Euros is necessary to begin talks to secure his services.

The Italian capital club paid 2.38 million euros to bring him to Rome in August of 2022. To date, he has participated in 61 games, having conceded 60 goals and kept 26 clean sheets.
