Lazio Set To Match Gosens' 3 Million Euro Salary To Bring Him Back To Italy

With one game left in the season, Lazio is already focusing on the summer transfer market. Along with monitoring Tchaouna, they are looking to bolster their squad, especially with the arrival of Coach Tudor. According to Gazzetta, Lazio has recently shown strong interest in Robin Gosens, the former Inter and Atalanta wing-back who currently plays for Union Berlin.

Gosens returned to Germany last summer after six seasons in Italy—four and a half with Atalanta and one and a half with Inter. He settled well in the Bundesliga but soon developed a desire to return to Italy. This interest attracted several Italian clubs, notably Bologna and Lazio. Lazio, led by Lotito, has been particularly determined, bringing negotiations with Gosens to an advanced stage. Frequent discussions with his agent have resulted in a tentative agreement, which Gosens has reportedly approved. His salary at Union Berlin, around 3 million euros including bonuses, would be matched by Lazio.

Union Berlin, which paid Inter just over 13 million euros for Gosens last summer, has agreed to honor his wish to return to Italy. They may settle for a slightly lower fee, around 10 to 12 million euros, or consider an initial loan with a compulsory purchase option.

Despite Union Berlin's struggles this season, with the team currently in the relegation zone, Gosens has performed well, scoring 6 goals and providing 4 assists.
