Lazio's Europa League Fate Rest On Final Match Against Sassuolo

Lazio are close to securing a spot in next season's Europa League but still need a positive result in their final match against Sassuolo next weekend.

Lazio's draw with Inter keeps them in sixth place in the Serie A standings with 37 matches played, trailing city rivals Roma by three points. This draw rules out a return to the Champions League, but they still have something to compete for.

With Serie A having five spots for the Champions League, the teams finishing sixth and seventh will qualify for the Europa League, while the eighth-placed team will enter the Conference League. Fiorentina is six points behind, leaving Lazio just one step away from qualifying for Europe's second-tier competition.

According to LaLazioSiamoNoi, Lazio can secure their Europa League spot with a win or draw against Sassuolo in the final game, keeping their fate in their own hands. Even if they lose, they can still qualify if Fiorentina fails to defeat Cagliari and Atalanta.

If Lazio loses to Sassuolo and Fiorentina wins both of their remaining matches, Igor Tudor's team will finish eighth and qualify for the Conference League.
