Tottenham Look To Tempt Isaksen To North London With Danish Connection At Play
Tottenham Hotspur are making moves to revamp their squad this summer, and Lazio’s Gustav Isaksen has emerged as a prime target for incoming manager Thomas Frank. The Danish winger is high on Frank’s wishlist, as the new Spurs boss looks to usher in a fresh era at the North London club.
After a disappointing Premier League campaign that saw Tottenham finish a lowly 17th—despite their Europa League triumph—the club parted ways with Ange Postecoglou and swiftly appointed Frank, impressed by his transformative work at Brentford. Now, the Danish coach is eager to bring in familiar faces, with compatriot Isaksen topping the shortlist for the right-wing role.
Sources at La Lazio Siamo Noi report that Frank, who previously tried to sign Isaksen while at Brentford, is once again keen on the 23-year-old. Tottenham are expected to offload Wilson Odobert before moving for a new winger to provide competition for Brennan Johnson, with Isaksen firmly in their sights.
Several factors could make the move particularly appealing for Isaksen. In addition to the opportunity to play under a fellow Dane and participate in Frank’s ambitious project at Spurs, Isaksen’s partner, Olivia Holdt, is already part of the Tottenham Women’s squad. This personal connection may play a pivotal role in his decision.
Lazio, meanwhile, are reluctant to lose a player who has made significant strides this season but are reportedly open to negotiations for a fee in the region of €25-30 million. The Biancoceleste’s willingness to consider offers signals a genuine possibility for the transfer to materialize.
