Valencia And Cadiz Are Pursuing Lazio's Escalante

The future of Gonzalo Escalante could still be in Spain. As expected a week ago, Valencia joined Cadiz in requesting information on the Argentine midfielder.

Today, from Spain, they confirmed their interest in Valencia as they prepare to challenge their compatriots to win Escalante's service. Lazio put him on the market and they wanted to sell him outright for around 3 million euros.

Taking the lead, Cadiz started talks with Lazio but didn't seem ready to take him. Cádiz would rather position themself on dry loans, possibly with a redemption right.

Valencia is currently only interested, they want to know if it is worth buying outright or if it is better to move to another target. Additionally, Valencia has yet to resolve their coaching issues with Gattuso, who appears to be close to signing. Once a new manager is found, Valencia will decide whether to jump or switch to other goals.

Gonzalo Escalante is an Argentine midfielder for SS Lazio.  Originally from SD Eibar, he made a qualitative leap in his sporting career when he landed in Italy three seasons ago. From that moment on, Escalante didn't take all the opportunities he hoped for and he was loaned to Alaves for the second half of the season. He scored five goals and an assist in just 1,300 minutes.

Escalante stands out for his ease when it comes to winning defensive duels, pressuring in the opposite field, and interceptions.  With the ball at his feet, he doesn't fall short since he generates a lot of play, something that Valencia CF needs in the team.
